With the same preparation by John McFarlane, Girard’s new production has transformed the level of honey into a rich, multilayered table that resembles large oil paintings. Talented German soprano Anya Campo in her debut entitled “Dedicated to Senta” – a shameless love sought by the Netherlands, with bass by Franz Josef Selig as her father Daland and tenor Sergey Skorokhodov as his ex-boyfriend Eric.

The commercial history of deception and obscenity in Ancient Rome was first made under the guidance of star mezzosoprano Joyce DiDonato as the operator, starving Agrippina and Harry Bickett. The production of Sir David McVicars skillfully captures this dark comedy plot about abuse of power to the present, where it must resonate strongly. The all-star cast includes mesosoprano Kate Lindsey as the son of Agrippina and future Emperor Nero, soprano Brenda Re as seducer Poppey, countertenor Iestin Davis as an ambitious Otton officer, and bass player Matthew Rose as the tired Emperor Claudius.

Soprano Anna Netrebko, who was described by her New York Times debut as Tosca 2018, is returning as Puccini’s explosive marvel to popular demand. Tenor Naymeddin Mavlyanov and Brian Jagde rotate as idealistic Cavarados artists, while baritones George Gagnidze and Michael Volle complete the triangle of the opera of death as a dark scorpion. Bertrand de Billy produces a wonderful production of Sir David McVirar.
