Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was created by Epic Games and was released on PC in 1998. That was special then, because in the 1990s, a few games were made on the scroll platform with a computer, as most developers built them for consoles. It has a very sharp 90s charm to graphics, games and music. This is often compared to EarthVorm Jim games, which were a huge hit on consoles at the time.

This is a side scrolling platform where you are a rabbit that has to break through a series of enemies, which is getting harder. His siblings also play a role in the later stages of the game, somewhat like Sonic and Tails on Sega. If you collect points by killing enemies or destroying objects, then you are earning a sugar rush, which makes you temporarily unbeatable.

If you collect coins, then you can activate a bonus distortion device that will take you to secret zones. You can collect apples to earn more points. You have endless ammo for your first gun, but you can also pick up new ammo that has limited stock. The tank you choose is much more powerful than your gun. The backrests are placed randomly. You know how they spin on them and move faster one way or the other. They are used to get to places you may not be able to jump. There are also checkpoints for toys that allow you to save space if your peloton loses life. The graphics are above average for the late 90’s and are a step up from Jim and Sonic’s EarthVorm. It’s easy to launch enemies, and it only becomes difficult for them about 2/3 of the time in the game. The game doesn’t have much history except you don’t like turtles, but the biggest game is the fast and casual charm, not the epic story.
